What brings a tear of joy to your eye?
Nothing makes me smile more
Than a moment that is pure
Whether it be from the creativity of our kids
Or the audacity spoken, which we later hope that God forbids
Tears tend to form puddles
From confessions of love in cuddles
Or the fun that comes before the ER and a L
I’m sure as they fall, they will spell
Letters of appreciation in every splat
Just to let everyone know that
The moments we cherish
Will never perish
They are immortalized
More than you realized
That they would ever be
Cause just when you think that you’ll never see
Them again
I use my pen
To draw those moments back to the surface
With the purpose
Of letting you know
Just how much of a hold that they have over my soul
